New Mexico Firefighter I Exam, Qualifications, and Guidelines

New Mexico Fire Academy

New Mexico fire training academy is accredited through IFSAC. This accreditation means that you are assured to obtain quality training with national recognition, and you may be able to transfer to another state easier. Basic firefighters will want to take the Firefighter I exam after taking the essential firefighting classes. Firefighter Exam is designed to teach you the knowledge you need to pass these exams. Prerequisites for Firefighter I
A student must provide documentation showing that he or she has completed the Hazardous Materials: Awareness, Basic Firefighter Emergency Medical Care, and Wildland Firefighter I (I-100, S-130/S190 and L-180) or Introduction to Wildland Firefighting and Basic Incident Command IS-100/200 courses prior to acceptance to the Firefighter I course.
So what does the Firefighter I exam cover.

100 test questions are randomly selected from comprehensive test banks. Keep in mind FFE site has over 1500 test preparation questions. All test questions are referenced to the NFPA 1001 Standard for Firefighter Professional Qualifications, the Delmar Thompson LearningTM Firefighter’s Handbook, Essentials of Firefighting and Emergency Response, and the IFSTA Essentials of Firefighting.

The exam contains two parts—a Written Exam and a Practical Skills Exam. The exam tests the objective of the current NFPA 1001 Standard for Firefighter Professional Qualifications which outlines the minimum necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA) of a firefighter.
