Minimum Requirement for becoming a firefighter for most departments
√ High School Diploma or GED.
√ Must possess a valid "Class C" Nevada driver’s license at time of appointment, including the first day of rookie school.
√ Vision must be correctable and within the guidelines specified in order to hold a current Nevada Driver's License.
√ Height in proportion to weight.
√ Physically and mentally fit to perform vigorous basic skill requirements.
√ Applicants are not eligible to apply if they have been convicted of a felony.
Pre-employment Requirements
√ Candidates must be in excellent physical condition.
√ Employment is contingent upon the results of a background investigation.
√ Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination, to include a pulmonary test, and a psychological evaluation performed by our examining physician.
√ Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug test.
